The food is great, service is excellent, and they give a discount to locals. (!) Here's part of their menu. Love their soup and their quiche. Lasagna is also excellent. And we haven't even touched on their baked goods.
But the big bonus is their lovely garden out back.
The best part of the garden is their bird feeder!!!!!! I could sit and watch for hours. Francisco knows almost every bird and that helps a lot and saves me time searching through my bird book. One day Francisco saw a raccoon on this feeder! I've never seen a live raccoon. Saw dozens of dead ones driving across Nebraska this summer. My goal is to some day see a live one. BigJohn saw a mother with two small ones along a trail here last week. Lucky!
That bright blue and yellow bird on the right is a male Euphonia. I had to get a close-up view to see exactly how they put this feeder together.
These are Buff-throated Saltators.
That is a beautiful Blue-gray Tanager.
These are Clay-colored Robins, Costa Rica's national bird. More on that subject later.
Another view of the Buff-throated Saltator.
And this is only the beginning. There are birds in the brightest reds and oranges and neon greens. My plan is to have BigJohn make me a feeder for our yard. I can't wait!
I have a problem with exclamation points too!! Hehe
ReplyDeleteWhen he makes you a bird feeder have him think of something shiny for the raccoons. (Not something they can grab and go with). If I am remembering right raccoons LOVE shiny things. Pair that with some food and you should see one. I hope
