¡Cumpleaños Madera!

That translates to Birthday Wood! Hannah and Francisco had just moved into a new place when we arrived in Monteverde and were in need of furniture. They both have November birthdays so it was decided to make furniture for gifts! A little unfair that Francisco had to work for his present but what a great opportunity for BigJohn and Francisco to get better acquainted.

It took a couple of trips to the lumber yard at Paso's house in Santa Elena and multiple trips to the hardware store for screws, nails, varnish, etc. But the project is almost completed!

 Getting the wood ready.
 Adding some varnish.
 Putting together the kitchen counter.
 Almost finished with this one!

Getting the top on the kitchen table.
 Hannah can't wait!
A little sanding on a nightstand.
 Kitchen counter varnished!
 And kitchen table varnished!
Two nightstands and an end table drying in the sun.
 More sunning.
Kitchen chairs cut out and ready to go.
Kitchen counter finished! Check out Malak getting some shade under the bottom shelf!
Dining alfresco for the first meal on the new table. Using nightstands for chairs!
First chair completed! Yeah! **Painting on the wall behind Hannah is still a work in progress.
