Can't take it anymore. At first I thought it was just over excitement or so many changes but the truth is - it's the bed. You've probably heard the old Barbara Mandrell hit song Sleeping Single in a Double Bed. For me it's more like Sleeping Triple in a Double Bed. They're called "double" beds giving you the illusion of space but they're actually the same width as two crib mattresses. And we all know that BigJohn is going to be taking WAY more than his fair share of the mattress in a situation like this. Then you have to throw Hector into the mix. You wouldn't think a chihuahua would take up that much bed space but Hector is some kind of mutant 16 pound chihuahua. Which is not my fault. Everybody has been blaming me for Hector's weight issues. Well turns out it's his thyroid. Not officially, but I'm pretty sure that's it. When we took him for his travel papers, the vet mentioned she could tell by his fur that he could be developing thyroid issues. Now don't you all feel bad for the many times you chastised me as I fed Hector a gumdrop or two? But even at 16 pounds he wouldn't be taking up that much mattress space but he kind of sets up a perimeter around himself where if you happen to move your foot anywhere near his space, he'll snap at you. His mouth isn't really that big for him to get a good bite but he can deliver a mean pinch which isn't a great feeling to wake up to. But BigJohn insists Hector be on the bed. So neither of us has had a decent night's sleep since we got to our house in Monteverde. Slept much better here at the Samara Sol Hotel in our queen bed last night. So now have to find out where I can get a mattress in Santa Elena.
Tinker-Belle sleeps on the bed with Dee and I. She is like a little furnace. I agree with you, a new matress is needed!
