Arrived to fresh flowers in the room. How sweet is that?
The view. Notice the lack of walls? The house was made of screen. I've got to get BigJohn to make me of one of those!
My favorite place - the hammock on the 2nd floor deck right under the ceiling fan.
View of the yard from the second floor - BigJohn and Cameron hanging out on the front deck.
Only a short walk down the path to the beach where Mia found lots of coconuts to roll around.
Walking through the mangroves.
Hey! I thought you said there weren't any crocs in here!
Is this where we cross the river?
Their dog Stanley loves the water.
Had no idea the lobster got this big here.
A mangrove seed starting to sprout out.
Maybe they're pointed so they'll stick in the dirt when they fall instead of washing out with the tide?
BigJohn and Cameron dragging the canoe out during low tide.
BigJohn takes Hector and me for a paddle through the mangroves.
Lots of bird action! Francisco and Hannah saw squirrel monkeys in here but we couldn't find them.
We could hear the howler monkeys every day coming from here.
Doesn't this tree look like it could just pick up its roots and walk away?
Cameron and Therese have a great beach.
Hawk and nest.
This is how Cameron and Therese would spend their days in Costa Rica. I bet they hated to leave! I had never been in such a warm ocean. It was like a warm bath. And then I gut stung by a jellyfish. So it's not really that much like bath water.
Headed back to shore.
Malak and Mia waiting for the swimmers to come back.
Mia loved this beach. Such warm water and hardly any wave action.
What is it with all these flip flops? And never a pair. Just singles.
Their screen house. So glad we made the trip and got to see their place on the Osa Peninsula. It was fantastic. Every morning we woke to the sounds of parrots and macaws in the yard. We could see them flying overheard and landing in the yard throughout the day.
Looks like an amazing adventure!
